So over the last 8-10 weeks I've done some hard core research on French Wines - well, mostly I've been drinking it and ordering it wherever I go - but I do have to say that this journey wouldn't be complete without a plan to dedicate some time to visit France again specifically for a true wine trip. So, that being said, I am in the midst of planning a French Wine Trip - I am not sure exactly when or how, but getting to France and checking out some great wine regions is definitely on my priority to-do list. It's not like eating crepes and drinking french vino is anything short of a great way to spend a good amount of time. And because I have the worst job in the world (note the sarcasm) it is actually my job to make sure I get over there and do more serious research.
I have learned a lot over the past weeks, and mostly there is one thing I have to say before I close my blogging chapter on French Wines. As much as I believe that we all need to understand the varietals we enjoy (and I think that learning about varietals is a very important part of your wine journey), I truly feel that understanding French wine regions (and any other euro wine region for that matter) and referring to French wine by their regions is crucial to understanding what makes and gives French wine it's own entity. In the world of wine (and literally almost everywhere in the world makes wine) capturing the essence of any particular region is very important to understanding that each wine has it's own sense of place and giving it its very own voice and identity is vital to capturing its true identity.
Let's do a quick recap on all my French Wine Confidence Steps:

All those things being said, I hope you learned as much about French Wines as I did. I can't wait for my next trip to France to learn more about the people, the terroir and the wines. One of my favourite parts about wine, is the fact that you are constantly learning new things, there are always new vintages, new winemakers, and that is what makes the wine world so amazing and interesting.
I hope you all grab a bottle of French Wine and discover (or rediscover) the history and the vibrancy in a bottle and a glass of France. French Wines are quality wines that are the right wine for anytime.
Until next time my wine friends,
Cheers,
Ange
